Optional Shim Sham Workshop @ 7:30 (before dance)

The Shim Sham is a jazz line dance that started in the 20’s 30’s. Tap dancers, on their free night together, would get together and groove with these moves. Swing dancers, such as Frankie Manning have modified the steps and incorporated it for swing danceres. Simone learned this dance from Frankie in the 90’s and has taught and led this dance for the New York Swing Dance Society and brought it over to Jersey. Swing dancers all over the world are familiar with this dance. It’s fun!

*This workshop is being offered before the dance. You must register by the morning of 2/5 so we know that we have enough to hold the class. If we have enough registered by then there will be a message on 973.746.6631 so last minute people can still come and pay at the door. $15. $12.with dance.
